Waiting & Monitoring

The Dr.'s have now stopped all the antibiotics and most of the oral medications and are confident that my reconstruction will continue and provide a confident foundation for my time at home. The advice for my time there is to do as much as possible to build my strength for the return to hospital, so lots of rest, healthy food, gentle exercise and relaxation are on the cards. All being well, I should be taken home tomorrow afternoon !

The specialists enthusiasm also continues. Incredibly, two slides of the fluid drawn yesterday are assembled immediately and the Doctor said that even at an initial glance she could see lots of healthy marrow, which she hoped to be able to confirm after an assessment through the microscope. The rest of the sample is sent to the Royal Marsden for assessment and it is hoped to have van initial response to those on Thursday morning.
